If you would like to learn the basics of pattern making, learn how to make patterns for tops and dresses this course is for you. On this course you will learn :
How to correctly take body measurements for pattern making;
How to draft your first pattern for a shift dress or a base pattern for a top;
how to adjust your pattern if necessary
Make toiles with your patterns;
When you have the first patterns made, next you will learn how to transform them into different designs using pattern manipulation techniques and make a few more patterns with some interesting details to add to your collection. This course will run over 2 weeks, total of 6 hours. You will need to bring A4 folder, some calico or plain cotton material for making toiles (calico material will be available to buy from our studio), paper for drawing patterns and a ruler , about 50cm long.
